373 Cylinders

373 Cylinders

This house is full of ‘wow’ factor and architectural features, from the impressive front fence and façade to the endless list of features both inside and out. The design was inspired by villas in Samui Thailand, and the owners spent countless hours perfecting the design to suit their needs, with the end result being more than impressive.

The extensive use of feature glazing and aluminium bi-fold doors bring the inside out, and the out side in, the open plan downstairs living area has too many features list, with cantilevered stairs, raking ceilings, floating benchtops, just to name a few. The outlook to the wet edge pool is breathtaking, with decks for entertaining and relaxing, with built in adjustable sun lounges.

55 Lakeview Terrace

55 Lakeview Terrace

This house was designed to make the most of the unparalleled golf course outlook and the aspect of the land. The extensive use of windows to create natural light and airflow enhances the ambience of all areas of the house at both day and night.

With the clients’ love of both entertaining and relaxing a key design consideration, all upstairs bedrooms and downstairs open plan living areas lead onto extensive decks and patios. Stacking sliding doors were used opening from the downstairs living room to the built-in BBQ, alfresco area and 14 metre long swimming pool.

The house has imposing street appeal with parapet facade and feature ‘Juliet’ balconies and extensive use of feature windows, and 1500mm wide aluminium pivot entry door. Inside the house is finished to the highest quality, with key features being the entry void with dark stained timber staircase and frameless glass balustrade, all 4 bedrooms include walk in robes and ensuites, and the kitchen with scullery.

6 Koolang Cres

6 Koolang Cres

6 Koolang Crescent was custom designed by Lifestyle Homes Gold Coast Director, Dean Ryan; for his former carpentry business partner. This house was designed to utilise both the outlook and the slope of the land, creating five different levels and using high raking ceilings to maximize the view. The extensive use of windows to create natural light enhances the ambience of the house at both day and night.

With the clients’ love of entertaining a key design consideration, all of the open plan living areas lead onto timber decks using stacking sliding doors to the central entertaining area and swimming pool; with its translucent glass panelling creating the perfect privacy screen from neighbours.

The house has great street appeal with varying roof planes and several forms of cladding used. There has been extensive use of timber starting with the angled 200 x 200 posts at the front entry deck to the Blackbutt flooring and stairs and the outside decks.

53 Crest Ave

53 Crest Ave

53 Crest Avenue was a 20 year old pole home on the Currumbin Hill purchased by owners with a vision to help this home reach its full potential by taking advantage of the breathtaking views from all levels. To begin with the street façade was dramatically updated using scion matrix cladding, alucabond garage door and a frameless glass entry pivot door complete with an innovative digital print of the back deck outlook, giving a taste of the impressive scenery the guest would experience.

A unique open plan master bedroom/ensuite was added to the entry level, with huge fixed glass windows creating an awesome view of the Coral Sea. The existing closed in stairways were removed to create a spectacular 3 storey void containing the stunning open riser, self supporting stairs and frameless glass balustrade with stainless steel handrail.

The 80’s style kitchen was removed and replaced by a sleek white two-pack and stone top creation; with clean lines, Miele appliances and the impressive glass splashback overlooking the Currumbin reserve all key features.

The living areas were updated using 600x600 charcoal tiles, with extensive use of glass and stacking doors opening onto the middle level entertaining deck. This level also contains the ‘day spa’ style powder room and laundry complete with Miele appliances.

The lower level was altered to include additional living area, guest bedroom with walk through robe and ensuite. Two more bedrooms and luxuriously appointed bathroom. Two more of these bedrooms and the living room open onto the lower level deck with views of the Coral Sea.

From the lower deck one can access the pool area and recessed gazebo via an intricate system of stairs and floating timber platforms; even from this level there is an uninterrupted view of the stunning coastline.

This house was fitted with the highest quality fixtures and fittings, with Villeroy and Boch, Alessi, Newform and Miele just to name a few. The ultra modern theme is prevalent on all levels, with the cabinet maker being engaged to create many built in and free standing pieces of furniture from beds, day beds, wall units even the baby change table; all designed to compliment the outstanding ambience of this impressive home.

55 George Thorn

55 George Thorn

This house was designed to utilise both the outlook and the aspect of the land. The extensive use of windows to create natural light and airflow enhances the ambience of all areas of the house  at both day and night.

With the clients’ love of entertaining a key design consideration, both upstairs and downstairs open plan living areas lead onto extensive decks. Stacking sliding doors were used opening from the downstairs living room to the built-in BBQ, alfresco area and swimming pool. A difficult part of the construction process was the house built on the waterline of the pool, with fixed glass windows from the living room creating the ultimate water feature. The upstairs living areas open onto the impressive entertaining deck using corner stacking doors and fixed glass windows to help bring the inside out, and maximise the uninterrupted views to Redland Bay.

The house has great street appeal with varying roof planes and several forms of cladding, as well as the impressive frameless glass balustrade, and 1500mm wide aluminium pivot entry door. Inside the house is finished to the highest quality, with key features being the open plan main bedroom and ensuite, the kitchen, and the spotted gum open riser stairs with frameless glass balustrade.

1020 Lakeview Terrace

1020 Lakeview Terrace

This house was designed to make the most of the unparalleled golf course outlook and the aspect of the land. The extensive use of windows to create natural light and airflow enhances the ambience of all areas of the house at both day and night.

With the clients’ love of entertaining and relaxing as well as the desire to work from home a key design consideration, the upstairs main bedroom / hobby room, living room and huge office lead onto a central deck, all of which have amazing golf course views. With future resale a consideration the office is designed to convert into 2 bedrooms at a later date if required. Stacking sliding doors were used opening from the downstairs living rooms and kitchen to the built-in BBQ, alfresco area and 12 metre long swimming pool with wet edge, endless jets and spacious deck.

There is a main bedroom with walk in robe and ensuite on both levels. The downstairs bedroom, living area and entry walkway open onto a central Japanese style ‘Zen’ garden.

The house has impressive street appeal with a combination of parapet facade and interesting roof planes, extensive use of feature windows, and 1500mm wide aluminium pivot entry door. Inside the house is finished to the highest quality, with key features being the vast entry void with raked ceilings, eye catching 2 pack cantilevered timber staircase and frameless glass balustrade, and the kitchen with bar area.

An interesting feature is the underground wine cellar accessed through the workshop floor constructed using a round 12000 litre concrete water tank. This was a difficult site to work on with houses on both sides and maximum site coverage used including zero lot to one side, this also required the pool to be constructed prior to the house being started.
